REIKI DEN INSTITUTE, Kunihito Yamaguchi

based in Okinawa, is a sanctuary for the exploration and practice of wellness, led by a practitioner with 39 years of experience in manual labor (construction and painting).

Beyond simple relaxation, the institute pursues true stillness of body and mind under the philosophy of "Shedding the Toxicity (excessive tension and burden) and Returning to Harmony."

The Three Pillars: Deep Tissue, Thai Massage, and Reiki

The institute integrates these three distinct approaches, providing treatments and education centered on "subtle sensations" tailored to each client's unique state.

1. Thai Massage (Chiang Mai Style)

Based on the traditional medicine of Chiang Mai, this style emphasizes rhythm and stretching.

  • Feature: Utilizing the therapist's own weight distribution, it is a sustainable method that protects the bodies of both the practitioner and the receiver.

  • Role: It functions as "moving meditation," loosening stiff fascia and aligning the energy pathways (Sen).

2. Deep Tissue Massage

This technique targets the deeper layers of tissue to release chronic tension.

  • Feature: Slowly delivers pressure not just to surface muscles, but to the deep muscles and fascia beneath.

  • Role: With "memories of the field" from 39 years of physical labor, the therapist accurately identifies and liberates the "stubborn tension" hidden deep within the body.

3. Reiki (Usui Reiki)

A traditional Japanese palm-healing therapy and a spiritual "guide for living."

  • Feature: More than just a healing technique, it prioritizes the therapist’s state of mind and harmony with the surrounding space.

  • Role: By layering Reiki onto physical massage, it induces "stillness" in the mental realm and restores the body’s innate self-regulating abilities.

The Mission: "The Memory of Hands, Forged through 39 Years"

30 years on-site, 1 year of farming, and 8 years in wellness.

The powerful "hands" forged in harsh labor environments have transformed—through learning in Thailand and Okinawa—into hands that can now sense the "subtle resonance" of the body.

REIKI DEN INSTITUTE values:

  • Relaxation & Harmony: Letting go of the need to over-exert and returning to a natural state.

  • Self-Education: Teaching therapists sustainable body mechanics and how to integrate Reiki into daily life.

  • Archives: Delivering original wellness reports that fuse traditional wisdom with personal experience.

We offer a profound healing experience that feels like returning to the earth and nature, set within the serene atmosphere of Okinawa.
